The greatest challenge in life is discovering who you are.  The second greatest is being happy with what you find.  – Anonymous

Good old Anonymous strikes again.  That Anonymous sure is smart…

It actually takes many lifetimes to discover who you really are: Soul, a spark of Divine Spirit.  On the way to this realization, we have many experiences that shape us and hone our personal qualities.  In each lifetime, Soul moves forward in terms of awareness and spiritual maturity.  Believe it or not, you are the best you’ve ever been right now.  You are more spiritually aware and mature than you were in any previous lifetime.  Every experience you’ve had  in all of your physical lifetimes, and each experience between physical lives, has brought you to where you are today.

When we realize that we have been in training for many lifetimes to be of service to God, we begin to ask ourselves what is our area of service.  What are we being trained to do?  Fortunately, service to God is not a drudgery.  It is always something we love to do and something that we’re good at.

So:  What do you love to do?   What are you good at?   How can you use this skill to serve God?

The second challenge is about being happy with what you find.  I think what this means is accepting what we’ve made of ourselves, warts and all.  It means realizing that we are responsible for the way we’ve turned out, and if we don’t like something about ourselves, we have the power to change it.  It’s about learning to love ourselves and appreciating those positive qualities in ourselves that we have managed to manifest.

So:  What are your good qualities?  How can you use these qualities to serve God?   What negative qualities in yourself would you like to change?  How will you go about doing this?   When you have changed, how will you be more able to serve God?   🙂
