I thought it appropriate that the image used for this quote was autumn leaves. It’s true that fall changes into winter, winter changes into spring, and spring changes into summer, but for some reason, when summer changes into fall, people sit up and take notice. Public schools are back in session after a long summer break, and lots of people start new activities or resume ones that they took a break from during the summer months.
Change brings a bit of chaos into our lives, but the gift it brings is opportunity, and opportunities are priceless. Change brings new situations into our lives, new people to meet, new things to do. For me, recently, it has meant the chance to earn a little money before an upcoming road trip, with the possibility of earning even more when I get back home. It has also given me a reason to dig out my old flute, have it repaired, and get back into playing it again, something I’d always wanted to do, but never had the time for.
Change is the nature of life itself. As soon as our bodies come into being in the womb, they go through miraculous changes, which continue after birth, to the point that we look nothing like what we started out as, physically. Even after death, the body continues to change, as it decomposes or is cremated.
Soul also changes throughout each succeeding lifetime, in the process of gaining spiritual maturity. In the course of a lifetime, Soul grows in grace, gaining the qualities that will allow It to serve the Creator to Its full capacity. 🙂
