Separation Is an Illusion

separation is illusionToday is Wednesday, January 8, 2014.

If you’re trying to “maintain a relationship with God” but cannot find God in the next person you meet, the next tree you walk by, in the next breath of air you take, or in the next moment you are left to your own presence…  If you cannot find God here and now… then look again.  Separation is an illusion.   –Anonymous

Think about this for a minute.  If you believe that there was absolutely nothing before God created Creation, then what did God make Creation out of?  ITSELF!  God didn’t so much “create” as make ITSELF manifest.  Before Creation, God existed as a sort of potential, which is really, really hard to get your mind around.  Basically, God manifested ITSELF as the heavens and the physical universe.  All of it.  When people say, God is All, they mean it.  God is All That Is.

Today’s quote is a good one because it breaks that down for you a bit.  God is everything, including  all the stars and planets in space, all the plants and animals on Earth, all the rocks, the wind, all of it.  And people.  Each and every one of us is some small part of God.  We’re swimming in God.  So if you want to have a relationship with God, you have to have a relationship with yourself, with other people, with all animals and plants, with all of nature, and everything else, because it’s all God.

Try this. For the next few days, just practice seeing God in everything and everyone around you.  When you like what you are seeing, give a little thanks in your mind.  When you are not happy with what you’re seeing, ask God why you are dealing with that right now, and listen for an answer!  It may not come right away, but at some point you will get an insight or arrive at some sort of understanding.  Then ask God what you can do to rectify the situation.  And wait for an answer.  When you get it, act on it   Then realize that you have been talking and listening to God.  That’s a pretty good start on a relationship, don’t you think?

Good luck! 🙂
