Give yourself permission to immediately walk away from anything that gives you bad vibes. There is no need to explain or make sense of it. Just trust the little inner voice when it talks to you. -Anonymous
There are definitely some people and situations you should walk away from: physical and emotional abuse, for one. Walk away from people who ask you to do things that you know are wrong, people who want you to take the rap for something they talk you into doing, people who are going to get you into trouble and who will not stand by you after that.
Walk away from people who lie, cheat and steal from you. They will probably lie, cheat and steal from others first: you will be next. Walk away from people who tell jokes at the expense of others. Soon they will be telling jokes at your expense. Walk away from people who treat other people like dirt under their fingernails. They will treat you like dirt, too.
Walk away from work situations where you are taken advantage of, sexually harassed, or asked to do something illegal. Walk away from relationships that don’t uplift you.
Don’t stay because you think you deserve it, or because you think it’s your karma. Don’t stay because of the kids, because of the money, or because of what the neighbors might think. Don’t stay because you are afraid to rock the boat. Don’t stay because it’s expected of you. Don’t stay because someone is trying to put a guilt trip on you.
Pay attention to the little voice that says: This is not right. Something’s wrong, here. Pay attention to your body: muscles clenching, stomach upset, headache, sweaty palms, heart palpitations, or any other symptom that all is not well. Pay attention to your surroundings. How are other people reacting? How are pets reacting? How are the plants reacting? (Pets and plants can feel bad vibes. Can you?)
